Malaria Treatment with Malarone

Malarone is the branded version of atovaquone/proguanil, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. Each tablet contains 250mg atovaquone and 100mg proguanil hydrochloride and works in the same way as the generic version, preventing malaria infection in adults and children travelling to high-risk destinations. One tablet is taken daily with food or a milky drink, starting one to two days before entering a malaria risk area and continuing for seven days after leaving.
