Leaflets list

Leaflet info
The Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) is the leaflet included in the pack with a medicine. It is written for patients and gives information about taking or using a medicine. It is possible that the leaflet in your medicine pack may differ from the PDF-version from this website because it may have been updated since your medicine was packaged or the medicine is from another brand.

General information about Cialis

Cialis is an erectile dysfunction treatment developed by Lilly. Its active substance Tadalafil inhibits the enzyme called PDE5, which is responsible for the inability of achieving or maintaining an erection. Once this enzyme is blocked, the arteries in the penis enable a stronger blood flow .This results in a firm erection and enables the user to enjoy sexual intercourse.

What is the difference to Viagra?

Once Cialis is functioning in your body, the effect will last for 36 hours. Compared to Viagra, which only lasts for 4 hours, you are flexible when it comes to sex during this time. Cialis allows you to have sexual intercourse several times during this period too. Just like Viagra it takes about 30 minutes before Cialis starts to work, so be sure to take the tablet in advance.

Which dose is appropriate for me?

There are three doses of Cialis available: 5mg, 10mg and 20mg.

Higher dosages mean that the effect of the medicine will be stronger. That is why 10mg or 20 mg are to be taken for occasional sexual intercourse. If you have sex on a regular basis, your doctor might suggest the 5mg Cialis tablets. The 5mg dose can be taken everyday.

How are Cialis 10mg and 20mg taken?

Cialis 10mg is typically the staring dose for men who have never taken it before. It allows the patient to have spontaneous sex over a period of about 36 hours. The tablet should be taken 30 minutes prior to sex.

If the Cialis 10mg dose does not lead to the desired result Cialis 20mg may be prescribed by the doctor. Usually it enables men to engage in satisfactory sexual intercourse over a period of up to three days.

What is Erectile-dysfunction?

Erectile-dysfunction is a type of sexual dysfunction, causing the inability to gain or maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. This condition is more common with men above the age of 40 and can be a consequence of type-2 diabetes or high blood pressure.

Nevertheless men of younger age groups can develop symptoms as well. However, the condition is often traced back to psychological issues, such as the pressure of satisfying the partner, especially in a new relationship.

Who can take Cialis?

It can be used by men of all age groups who suffer from erectile dysfunction. The cause of this condition alters depending on the age group though. With young men it can often be traced back to psychological issues, with older men it can come as a symptom of ageing.

How to use Cialis?

Take as prescribed and consult the leaflet provided for more information.
