Order Lucette pill online

Lucette is a combined contraceptive pill that uses two synthetic hormones - ethinylestradiol and drospirenone - to protect against unwanted pregnancy. Ethinylestradiol replicates the effect of natural oestrogen, while drospirenone replicates progestogen. Lucette is a 21 day monophasic pill that is a relative newcomer to the market. It has some potential benefits of other combined pills for women who suffer from heavy periods, PMS and period pains. Lucette may also reduce the risk of certain cancers, fibroids and ovarian cysts.

To renew your Lucette prescription online at DoktorABC complete our short medical questionnaire. Our GP will review your health profile to check whether Lucette is safe for you to use. If your prescription is approved our pharmacy will immediately process your order. Checkout price includes prescription, contraceptive pills and next day delivery by UPS courier.

Product information

What is Lucette?

Lucette is a combination birth control pill containing 0.03 mg ethinylestradiol and 3 mg drospirenone. The synthetic hormone drospirenone was first used in the year 2000 and is regarded as a 4th generation progestin.

Heavy smokers over the age of 35, and women who are unable to tolerate oestrogen, should not use Lucette, nor should women who are overweight (BMI 35+)

Lucette may be beneficial for women who suffer from difficult menstruation (heavy periods, pains and cramps and PMS). It may also alleviate the effects of acne in sufferers.

How to take Lucette

Lucette is a monophasic pill. It is supplied in calendar strips of 21 tablets. Each pill is labelled with its own day of the week. Take the appropriate pill, at roughly the same time every day, for 21 days.

You will then take a 7 day break with no pills. On the 8th day you should begin a new strip of 21 tablets. You must take the pill daily, starting on the first day of your menstrual cycle for effective protection against pregnancy.

You may experience bleeding similar to your monthly period during each 7 day break. You should begin a new strip of 21 pills on the 8th day regardless of any bleeding.

Who can use Lucette?

Doctors will generally consider prescribing Lucette to most healthy women of child bearing age. If you are approaching the menopause, your doctor may suggest a different type of pill.

If you are a smoker over the age of 35, are overweight, or have a history (or a family history) of cardiovascular problems, your doctor may recommend a progestogen based mini pill instead.

Lucette may help if you suffer from acne, or from some menstrual problems like PMS, heavy bleeding or period pains.

When you fill in our short medical questionnaire, our online GP will immediately check your health status to ensure that Lucette is the right contraceptive pill for you.

Please read the Side Effects section for full information about whether Lucette is suitable for you.

What is the dosage of  Lucette?

Lucette is a combined pill that is prescribed in the following dosages:

Ethinylestradiol ( oestrogen) 0.03 mg

Drospirenone (progestogen) 3 mg

Drospirenone is a relatively new synthetic version of progestogen and was introduced for medical use in the year 2000. Lucette is similar to the combined pills Yasmin and Yasminelle. The combination of hormones is highly effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy (when the pills are taken exactly in accordance with manufacturer’s and doctor’s instructions).

What if I forget to take my Lucette Pill?

The manufacturer advises users to take Lucette pills at roughly the same time every day during the 21 day phase.

If you forget to take a pill and less than 12 hours have passed since your regular time, simply take that day’s pill as soon as possible.

If more than 12 hours have passed since your set time, read the manufacturer’s pamphlet at once. If you miss one or more pills, you may be at risk of pregnancy.

What are the side effects of Lucette?

Medications like Lucette that contain ethinylestradiol and drospirenone are prescribed to millions of women worldwide. If you follow the manufacturer’s and your doctor’s advice exactly, the likelihood is that you will find Lucette to be a safe and highly effective form of birth control.

As with any prescription medicine, there is a small risk of side effects, but these usually affect only a small number of women.

Can I use Lucette if I smoke?

Smoking is generally not recommended while using hormonal contraception as it increases the risk of serious side effects. This is specifically true if you are over 35 years old and smoke more than 15 cigarettes a day. Possible serious side effects may include strokes and blood clots.

Possible common side effects

Most patients do not experience any significant side effects when using Lucette, but the following common side effects may occur in some users:
